1.  Select and schedule date(s) and time(s) convenient for your employees or members of business/church/facility.

2.  Pledge cards and schedules are available for donors to sign-up in advance of the drive.

3.  Posters showing date, time and location of the blood drive are available for display at your facility.

4.  Time involvement per donor is approximately 40 minutes, including:

• Screening:  blood pressure, pulse, temperature, hematocrit level are checked and medical history is reviewed

• Actual donation:  average 5 - 10 minutes

• Refreshments:  donor is provided with soft drinks and cookies

 
LOCATION REQUIREMENTS

Inside setup: Accommodates 4 - 8 donors every 30 minutes

• 20' X 24' room

• Two electrical outlets

• Two tables

• Fifteen chairs

• Air conditioning

Bloodmobile: Accommodates 5 donors every 30 minutes

• Parking space 40 feet long and 10 feet wide

 
DONOR REQUIREMENTS

• Donors must be 17 years of age; there is no upper age limit.

• Donors must weigh at least 110 pounds.

• Donors must have eaten a good meal within 4 hours prior to donating.

• Medications/health should be discussed with Blood Center personnel  (Some medications are acceptable and some are not.)
